Methodology for Less Carbon Raw Material Conversion in Concrete Production

The proposed methodology applies to project activities that reduce or eliminate the use of cement by introducing industrial by-products and stimulants as raw materials in carbon-reducing concrete production. By eliminating the use of cement in concrete manufacturing, which uses limestone in the energy-intensive calcination process, a reduction in GHG emissions is achieved. The proposed methodology is globally applicable.

The methodology idea note was submitted by Samsung C&T (external). It was archived on February 29, 2024 since it overlaps with another proposal (M0200 Methodology for the Production of Low-Carbon Cement and Concrete).
