A beta version of the LandScale platform for assessing landscape sustainability was released in early November. The public launch is planned for spring 2022.
LandScale provides a practical and robust system to assess and communicate landscape sustainability performance. It helps organizations working at the landscape level to understand risks and opportunities, credibly report impact, and unlock incentives to improve sustainability at scale. The LandScale platform offers detailed guidance, a space for seamless collaboration, and useful resources that make conducting an assessment as intuitive and efficient as possible. After an assessment has been validated by LandScale, the result can be shared on the platform to connect landscape stakeholders to a global audience.
The new platform will support LandScale’s existing pilot projects as well as a growing number of new customers, including the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD), which is applying LandScale in a large landscape in Mali, and the Regional Community Forestry Training Center (RECOFTC), which is applying LandScale in Nepal.
LandScale also launched a redesigned website that outlines the assessment framework and links users to the new platform in order to conduct assessments or to review assessment results from specific landscapes.
