16. Carbon Capture and Storage
M0367
VM0049 Carbon Capture and Storage is globally applicable and designed for project activities involving carbon capture and storage (CCS). It utilizes a modular approach to quantify emissions across the capture, transport, and storage components of a CCS project. These modules can be combined as needed, depending on the project’s specific design and particular technologies utilized, on a case-by-case basis. VM0049 also incorporates a suite of tools that outline procedures for conducting specialized analyses relevant to applicable projects.
The proposed module for CO2 Capture from Acid Gas Removal in Natural Gas Processing Plants applies to project activities that qualify under the latest version of VM0049 that result in the capture of carbon dioxide that has been separated from natural gas streams.
