As Director, Financial Operations, Jacquelyn (Jackie) leads Verra’s Finance-Accounting team in overseeing accounting operations, grants management, and contract reviews. She also manages the annual audit and lead the budget-making process, working closely with Director, FP&A on revenue, and expense and cash flow projections. She defines, implements, and revamps financial operations processes, controls, policies, and procedures.

Jackie brings over 20 years of for-profit and non-profit professional leadership experience, blending financial and conservation science knowledge. Most recently, she spent 10 years at Rainforest Alliance ($100M budget) as Sr. Director, Global Accounting where she built strong financial processes and cohesive, cross-cultural international teams with respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has served on board committees, helped evaluate new business initiatives, and fostered strong cross-functional collaboration and strategic vision to enable stronger programmatic decisions and operational efficiencies. She worked very closely with country operations in Asia, Latin and Meso-America, Africa, North America, and Europe. Prior to that, she served as Director, Cash Management at another Columbia University’s ICAP (non-profit with international operations in Africa and Central Asia) and worked in Big4 and other private sector for-profit companies for over ten years before that.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Arts degree in Conservation Biology. She was born in Guyana and has called New York City her home for over 30 years. She lives with her husband and two young sons and has a passion for food, adventure, and travel, especially exploring land, sea, people, and cultures.
