The VCS is committed to helping catalyze action on climate change; to that end, we often host online learning sessions to better highlight the newest methodologies and other developments to the VCS Program. For the month of July, we have one such webinar on the calendar.
Title: Discussion of Newly Approved Version of VM0009: Methodology for Avoided Ecosystem Conversion
Date: 10 July 2014, 11:00am EDT
Description: Much like forests, native grassland and shrubland ecosystems also act as an important carbon sink. Yet increasingly these ecosystems face the threat of conversion to agriculture, infrastructure and other uses, resulting in GHG emissions. To help address this issue a revision to VM0009 now extends its applicability to become the first VCS methodology to address Avoided Conversion of Grasslands and Shrublands (ACoGS). VCS staff will be joined by representatives from Wildlife Works, as well as members from both DNV and ESI, the auditors who assessed the methodology, for this webinar.
We hope you will join us at this webinar and appreciate your continued support of the VCS mission.
