Valeria Enciso
Deputy Representative, Latin America and the Caribbean
As the Deputy Representative, Latin America and the Caribbean, Valeria supports the regional representation team in managing consultations with stakeholders, strengthening capacities, representing the organization at different events, and promoting the standard and its multiple programs in the region.
Before joining Verra, Valeria was the Head of Outreach at MÉXICO2, where she led capacity-building activities, including the Diploma in Carbon Markets program and the Course on Project Development on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). Likewise, she managed the Mexico, Argentina, and Ecuador Carbon Forums, events aimed at mobilizing local market actors to strengthen climate action. She collaborated on important projects on carbon pricing and support mechanisms in Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean. In 2022, Valeria was part of the green taxonomy group for the energy sector of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Mexico and the World Bank.
Valeria holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Environmental Systems from the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. She has successfully completed courses covering topics such as carbon taxation, emission trading systems, NBS project development, climate finance, and Article 6.2. Her leisure activities include running, attending music festivals, and, above all, spending time with her beloved dog, Mimix.
