As Manager, VCS Methodologies, Natural Climate Solutions, Simon supports the review of existing methodologies and the development processes of new methodologies, with a focus on agriculture and forestry sectors.

Before joining Verra, Simon performed and oversaw validation and verification audits for SustainCERT’s Scope 3 emissions reduction and removals program, focusing on agricultural value chains. He also worked for several years as a carbon project developer with South Pole. In that role, he was responsible for feasibility studies, project design and monitoring, and marketing the impacts of forest conservation and agriculture carbon projects in Africa, Latin America, and India.

Simon’s experience includes advocating for the development of jurisdictional REDD+, researching digital MRV solutions for land-use projects, assessing compliance with ISO standards for quantification and reporting of GHG emissions, and auditing (14064; 14065; etc.).

Simon is French and lives in Medellín, Colombia. He holds a Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering (University of Technology of Compiègne, France) and a M.A. in Development Studies (University of Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne, France).
