As Manager, Natural Climate Solutions, Natalia’s key responsibilities  include managing a growing team of colleagues and contractors, reviewing projects, supporting the team’s professional development, and maintaining and ensuring the integrity and quality of projects registered in the VCS Program.

Natalia has 20 years of professional experience in the field, including work at a strategic level in programs and projects in the land use sector. Before joining Verra, she worked for the ICCO Cooperation as regional coordinator of their climate program, “Our Land, Our Forests,” in Latin America. She was responsible for this program and its projects in Colombia and carried out strategic planning and provided technical advice for developing the program in the ICCO sub-regional offices in Guatemala and Bolivia.

Natalia has also worked with ONF Andina, a subsidiary of the French National Forest Office, as a subject matter expert on climate change and forests. In this role, she supported the design, implementation, and monitoring of forestry and nature-based solutions projects, as well as institutional and capacity building, and the formation of regional and sectoral strategies for REDD+ activities and climate action. She also has experience in public policy and international negotiations regarding climate change through her participation in several UNFCCC COPs.

Outside of work, you may find her spending time with her family, walking outdoors in nature, or traveling to an exciting new natural destination.
