Mabel Nabunya
Program Officer
At Verra, Mabel supports essential program functions drawing on her forestry background and work experience with carbon project developers and climate finance institutions.
Before joining Verra, Mabel worked as a Carbon Expert with Fairventures Worldwide and a Carbon finance specialist with the Uganda Carbon Bureau, developing forestry and clean cookstove projects. Mabel also provided technical support in implementing Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) Support projects at the GIZ NAMA Facility.
Mabel completed her Master’s degree in Tropical Forestry at TU Dresden in Germany and received her Bachelor’s degree in Social and Entrepreneurial Forestry from Makerere University.
Outside of work, Mabel enjoys reading, nature walks, and gardening.
