As a Program Officer, Sustainable Development Innovation, Lia supports the drafting and piloting of the Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta) Nature Framework by identifying and developing proposed Sustainable Development updates to Verra program rules, procedures, methodologies, and tools.

In previous roles, she worked in county government under the Chief Sustainability Officer to develop policy regarding single-use materials and for an organic agriculture company that builds and maintains residential gardens.

Lia earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Ethics and Policy from the University of Portland, where her studies focused on climate science, socio-ecological systems, sustainable innovation, and environmental policy frameworks.

She also holds educational certificates from prominent universities in carbon accounting, project management methods, and impact measurement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
