Program Officer, Web Specialist
As Program Officer, Web Specialist, Lerato is responsible for maintaining and improving Verra’s website, while playing a crucial role in ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. She follows and applies the latest industry standards and guidelines to ensure that the website adheres to accessibility, privacy, and data protection requirements, providing users with a seamless and secure browsing experience.
Lerato is also responsible for monitoring the website’s analytics and interpreting data to drive actionable insights that will highlight opportunities for website enhancements and strategic improvements.
Lerato brings with her 5 years of extensive experience within the international civil society sector where she has led on the development and implementation of web and all-round digital communications strategy for international organizations such as CIVICUS, the Global Initiative of Economic, Cultural & Social Rights (GI-ECSR) as well as Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
Prior to joining Verra, she held the role of Digital Platforms Officer at CIVICUS, where she managed and drove the overall ICSW web and online engagement strategy, including the development of new websites/microsites as well as managing other web assets.
Lerato holds a diploma in Public Relations Management from the University of South Africa and is currently pursuing her BA Honours degree in Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Witwatersrand.
