Juan was born in Panama and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering before moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to pursue a Master of Science degree in the same field. During the 15 years he spent in Baton Rouge, he developed a strong fondness for local delicacies like gumbo, shrimp etouffee, and jambalaya. Juan and his wife Beny have three children: Daphne, Greta, and JR. Juan worked as the IT manager for a credit union (Campus Federal CU) during his tenure in Baton Rouge.

After moving to Virginia in 2003, Juan became the Vice President of IT for a credit union in Fairfax (Apple Federal CU), where he worked for 17 years. While there, he managed helpdesk, networks, storage, servers, Windows AD, and cybersecurity. In 2020, Juan joined NRUCFC, a financial corporation providing financial solutions to electrical companies, as an IT manager. His responsibilities there included managing their Windows AD, Azure, O365, and Horizon VDI environment (500 users).
