Jovanda Stallworth

As Manager of Payroll and Grants, Jovanda is responsible for managing the full cycle of payroll. She is also responsible for grant reporting, compliance, and proposal development, along with audit support and account reconciliations.

Prior to joining Verra, Jovanda was a Senior Accountant at Avance-Houston where she spent many years managing federal grants, accounts receivable, procurement, in-kind, financial reporting and bank reconciliations. Jovanda also spent some time at a Houston area non-profit called Community Family Centers (CFC) where she was a Staff Accountant in charge of accounts payable and payroll. Prior to joining CFC, she was a Full-Charge Bookkeeper for The Salvation Army.

Jovanda has 12 years of experience working in the non-profit industry. 10 of those years have been in accounting and grant management. Jovanda has a passion for public service which started when she served a year in AmeriCorps while in college. While serving in AmeriCorps she taught after school programs to at-risk youth in the Houston area.

Jovanda graduated as a double major with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. She also holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.

Jovanda has two fur babies T2 and Cozmo who she loves dearly. When she is not spending time with them, she is normally out shopping or in the kitchen creating a new dish.
