Joash Obare
Senior Program Officer, Energy and Industry
Prior to joining Verra, Joash worked with SustainCERT where he reviewed projects, carried out both project development and VVB training, and advised project developers on standards and certification processes. He has more than 15 years of experience working as a project developer across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, and with assisting project developers in validating, registering, and verifying projects. As a project developer, he has supported climate change mitigation projects covering various technologies such as improved cookstoves, water purification, cement industry, waste management, wind, geothermal, biogas, and solar photovoltaics.
Joash holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies. He is based in Nairobi, Kenya. He enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and spending time outdoors.
