As Director, Financial Operations, Jacquelyn (Jackie) will lead the Finance-Accounting team to oversee accounting operations, grants management, and contract reviews. She will also manage the annual audit and lead the budget-making process, working closely with Director, FP&A on revenue, expense and cash flow projections. She will define/implement/revamp financial operations processes, controls, policies and procedures.

She brings over 20 years of for-profit and non-profit professional leadership experience, blending financial and conservation science knowledge. Most recently, she spent 10 years at Rainforest Alliance ($100M budget) as Sr. Director, Global Accounting where she built strong financial processes/systems/controls and cohesive, cross-cultural international teams with respect for diversity, equity and inclusion. She has served on board committees, helped evaluate new business initiatives and fostered strong cross-functional collaboration and strategic vision to enable stronger programmatic decisions and operational efficiencies. She worked very closely with country operations in Asia, Latin & Meso-America, Africa, North America and Europe. Prior to that, she served as Director, Cash Management at another Columbia University’s ICAP (non-profit with international operations in Africa and Central Asia) and worked in Big4 and other private sector for-profit companies for 10+ years before that.

She holds a BS in Accounting and MA in Conservation Biology. She was born in Guyana and has called New York, NY her home for over 30 years. She lives with her husband and 2 young sons and has a passion for food, adventure and travel – exploring land, sea, people and cultures.
