Senior Manager, Energy and Industry, VCS Program Management
As Senior Manager, Energy and Industry, VCS Program Management, Heather leads a team focused on energy and industrial projects and manages a roster of expert project reviewers contracted to assist Verra in conducting project reviews. She acts as team lead to ensure the continual improvement of energy and industrial methodologies with the Program Development and Innovation Department.
Heather has over 15 years of experience in the voluntary and compliance carbon markets. Prior to joining Verra, Heather worked with South Pole on the standards and methodologies team, where she reviewed and provided guidance on methodologies and project modules and assisted staff with inquiries into standards rules and requirements. Before South Pole, Heather worked at the Climate Action Reserve, where she reviewed projects, assisted in developing methodologies and program rules, led a team specializing in waste methane projects, and conducted verification body methodology training.
Heather graduated as an Atmospheric Scientist and holds a Master’s degree in Climate and Society from Columbia University. She is originally from Canada and currently lives in the Los Angeles area. Heather enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her family outdoors.
