As Senior Program Officer, Natural Climate Solutions, Cristina is responsible for reviewing registration and verification requests for NCS projects, with a focus on WRC, ARR, and other forestry projects. She collaborates with the Auditing and Accreditation Team on assessing the VVB performance and serves as a subject expert within Program Management Department on NCS projects.

Before joining Verra, Cristina worked as a project development associate/consultant in blue carbon and AFOLU projects in Asia and Latin America. Working for HCBL/Base Carbon, she provided support on leading projects from origination to deal close in coordination with business functions and partners.

Cristina’s previous experience includes providing Climate and Sustainability Advisory services in a climate consulting division of the NTT Data Group, assisting in the validation, registration, and verification of solar photovoltaic, hydroelectric, wind power, and biogas projects in different Latin American countries. She was especially focused on technology solutions for climate change and worked on the design of tools for climate change mitigation and biodiversity, climate risks, carbon footprints, and adaptation.

Cristina holds a bachelor’s degree in Natural Environment Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from the EOI Business School.

She currently lives in Torrelodones, Madrid, where you can often find her hiking, playing the cello, watching movies, going to the botanical garden, reading, and hanging out with friends for tapas.
