Cai May is Manager, Program Initiatives, VCS Program Management at Verra. As part of Verra’s Program Management Team, she provides technical guidance to program users and contributes to the evolution of Verra programs in helping stakeholders achieve climate goals. She also supports the development of VCS methodologies, focusing on sustainable agriculture solutions.

Before joining Verra, Cai May interned with the International Institute for Sustainable Development and Don’t Waste Durham, where she researched and built tools to evaluate materials management infrastructures.

Cai May earned a Masters of Environmental Management from Duke University, specializing in Environmental Economics and Policy. At Duke, she taught a course on international climate negotiations and produced a thesis to quantify climate risks in the global timber market. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environment Studies from Soka University of America.

Originally from Malaysia, Cai May enjoys recreating the dishes she misses. She also enjoys reading and being outdoors in her free time.
