As a Senior Program Officer for Verra’s Plastic Waste Reduction Program, Arpan serves as a subject-matter expert. He supports project reviews (covering listing, registration, and verification approvals of the projects), along with the evolution and improvement of the program.

Prior to joining Verra, Arpan worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) India for three years as a Senior Consultant in the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) consulting domain. He worked with numerous clients to develop their ESG strategies and sustainability reports (based on frameworks such as the IR, GRI, DJSI, BRSR, and others). At PwC, Arpan also coordinated the research project with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) India for their plastics program to study the situation and pain points of stakeholders across the plastic waste value chain in India and suggest changes in the regulations to address those concerns. He also handled the Ginner Audits for Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) India, traveling extensively across India to ensure compliance of ginners against the BCI Chain of Custody Standards.

Before joining PwC, Arpan worked as a short-term consultant with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), a policy think tank in India, on their project Powering Livelihoods, aimed at increasing the distribution of clean energy-powered appliances across rural India.

Arpan is based out of Hyderabad, India. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow and an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. He has worked for four years in the software industry after his bachelor’s and decided to switch the industry after his master’s to contribute back to society. Arpan enjoys playing outdoor sports, traveling, and photography in his leisure time.
