As Manager, Forest Carbon Data Innovation, Andrew leads the geospatial information and remote sensing components of Verra’s REDD+ and forest carbon methodology development and review. In collaboration with the Technology Solutions team, Andrew supports the integration of those methodology components with Verra’s long-term monitoring system and digital measurement, reporting, and verification (DMRV). Andrew is further responsible for developing standard operating procedures for geospatial data acquisition, management, retrieval, and exchange between Verra and their stakeholders.

Andrew brings extensive technical experience to Verra, having previously served as a Machine Learning Lead at Sylvera, where he focused on building robust and scalable machine learning systems for geospatial and remote sensing data. Before that, he worked as a Data Science Manager at Maxar Technologies, overseeing a team of data scientists and engineers building bespoke ML systems and providing research as a service for various customers.

Andrew holds a M.S. in Geography from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Environmental Science from Allegheny College.

He lives in the Washington, DC area. In his free time, he enjoys running, cycling, and gardening with native plants.
