Alberto Girotto

As Senior Program Officer, Natural Climate Solutions, Alberto is responsible for reviewing registration and verification requests for NCS projects, with a focus on REDD and other forestry projects. In this role, he collaborates with the Auditing and Accreditation Team on assessing the VVB performance and serves as a subject expert on NCS projects.

Prior to joining Verra, Alberto supported the certification and management of an FSC forest in Panama. He also served as carbon and forestry expert for both Eni and Leaf, where he had the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders, support the management and review of important VCS-CCB certified projects, and develop technical capacity.

Alberto holds an M.Sc. in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University & Research. In his free time, he enjoys hiking through the mountains, basketball, and a good book.
