This proposed module to VM0041 generates carbon credits for the reduction of enteric methane and N2O emissions produced by beef cattle in the finishing stage at the feedlot from the introduction of feed additives and feed efficiency practices. The project activities for this proposed module include performance tracking and cattle sorting Improvements, feeding strategies, feed technologies, and genetic improvements.
SUMMARY OF DEVELOPMENT
- The methodology was proposed by Viresco Solutions Inc. and Ajinomoto Co., Inc under an older version of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (MDRP) (PDF).
- In December 2024, the development of this methodology was put on hold.
- In March 2026, Verra reassessed the priority of methodologies under development and decided to keep this proposal on hold.
- Verra will reassess whether to resume the development of this methodology in Q3 2026.
