Module for VM0041: Methodology for the Reduction of Enteric Methane Emissions from Ruminants through the Use of Feed Ingredients

This proposed module to VM0041 generates carbon credits for the reduction of enteric methane and N₂O emissions produced by beef cattle in the finishing stage at the feedlot from the introduction of feed additives and feed efficiency practices. The project activities for this proposed module include performance tracking and cattle sorting Improvements, feeding strategies, feed technologies, and genetic improvements.

The module was submitted by Viresco Solutions Inc. and Ajinomoto Co., Inc. It is currently at “Stage 3: Draft Methodology Development” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, 4.3 (PDF).
