VM0008 v1.1 (PDF) covers weatherization of dwellings and implementation of energy efficiency measures in single-family homes, multi-family buildings, or mobile homes that reduce energy consumption. Examples include but are not limited to, improved air sealing, enhanced insulation, and replacements of refrigerators and air conditioning units.
The proposed revision expands the scope to upgrades to heating/cooling systems, such as heat pumps (HP) and heat pump water heaters (HPWH).
SUMMARY OF DEVELOPMENT
The proposed revision was submitted by Climate Neutral Business Network (external) and RENU (external) and is currently at “Step 4: Public Stakeholder Consultation” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (PDF).
The consultation for this proposed revision is open from December 12, 2024 to January 13, 2025. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit feedback using Verra’s new digital public consultation platform. Comments may be submitted electronically via the online form by 11:59 pm Anywhere on Earth (UTC -12) on January 13, 2025.
