Methodology for Carbon-Aware Computing

 
This proposed methodology applies to project activities that reduce GHG emissions from cloud computing by developing and using dedicated software to shift computing workloads to times and locations with a lower carbon intensity of the electrical grid. A variety of software technologies is covered, and the methodology is globally applicable.

The methodology idea note was rejected by Verra, as per Section 3.1.5(3) of the Methodology Development and Review Process, 4.2 (PDF). The decision was based on low climate change mitigation potential compared to other proposals.
