Update: Verra is extending the application deadline to April 22, 2024.

Verra is relaunching its Sustainable Development Advisory Group (SDAG) and invites interested stakeholders to apply. This new iteration of the SDAG will be a strategic and technical resource to support the evolution of Verra’s efforts to integrate sustainable development across all its standards programs. The members of the previous cohort were appointed to serve a three-year term, which expires in July 2024.

The SDAG will provide input on strengthened program requirements and guidance on social and environmental safeguards and community and stakeholder engagement in Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS); Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS); Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta); and Plastic Waste Reduction Programs.

The SDAG will also guide the development of the standardized monitoring, reporting, and verification of sustainable development contributions and benefits for Verra’s projects, in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Verra seeks a diverse group of qualified members who represent a range of experiences, expertise, geographies, stakeholder interests, identities, and sectors. Please review the Terms of Reference (PDF) for more information about the SDAG’s role and objectives, as well as the desired qualifications and expectations of group members.

Interested stakeholders are invited to apply by April 8, 2024, using the Sustainable Development Advisory Group application form (external).

Please contact Lia de Queiroz, program officer, sustainable development innovation (ldequeiroz@verra.org), with questions or comments about the SDAG.
