A Bloomberg article titled “Burping Cows Get the Green Light to Join Carbon-Offset Market” explains how a garlic and citrus feed supplement can lower the greenhouse gases burped out by cows. Farmers using the feed supplements can now sell greenhouse gas credits in the carbon offset market.

Verra recently approved this methodology, developed by Swiss agritech company Mootral. The process has been proven to cut emissions by up to 38%. Mootral says it eventually wants to expand to sheep and goats using similar methods.
