As a Senior Program Officer, Natural Climate Solutions, Aparna reviews registration and verification requests for natural climate solutions (NCS) projects, collaborates with the Auditing and Accreditation Team to assess VVB performance, and serves as a subject matter expert within the Program Management Department on NCS projects.

Aparna Tyagi is a distinguished Ph.D. holder in Natural Resources Management. Throughout her illustrious career of 7 years, she has honed her implementation and managerial skills in climate change adaptation and mitigation, carbon project development and implementation in nature-based solutions, sustainable forest management, land and water management, and forest governance. She has successfully worked on a myriad of projects, including the development of ARR and ALM projects to enhance the livelihoods of small and marginalized farmers through carbon finance, conservation and restoration REDD+ projects, capacity building training programs for forest officials on carbon stock assessment in forest ecosystems, governance models for implementing the Forest Rights Act in India, review of workings of decentralized forest governance institutions, economics of desertification, land degradation and drought in India, and integrated watershed management programs.
