Senior Program Officer, Technology Solutions
As the Senior Program Officer of Technology Solutions, Summer leads methodology digitalization and digital Measurement Reporting and Verification (DMRV) development for nature-based solutions. She also works with methodology developers and Verra staff to support and the digitalization of new methodologies and DMRV pilot projects.
Summer is an innovative and pragmatic product development professional passionate about making agriculture production more sustainable by using digital technologies. She has years of experience in building user-facing digitalized methodologies and leading methodology platform integration for diverse agriculture use cases in various geographies, utilizing data inputs from sensors and Farm Management Systems. With experience working as an individual contributor and product owner at a precision agriculture and food company, she has broad project experiences, from building descriptive and predictive analytics solutions for digital platforms, methodology digitalization design, funding application, and digital transformation to carbon accounting. The products she developed serves both growers and multi-national enterprise clients in North America and Brazil.
Summer holds a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Lethbridge in Canada. Her thesis project was to use species distribution model and machine learning models to predict habitat changes of a potato insect pest under climate change scenarios.
Living in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, Summer loves the beautiful scenery and landscape in her home province and enjoys exploring its parks, nature, and farmlands.
