Iwan Wibisono

In his role as Manager, REDD+ Government and Technical Coordination for the Asia Region, Iwan meets with government officials and technical experts to explore government data related to VCS project development requirements. He also communicates with stakeholders about opportunities to contribute to the acquisition and production of REDD+ data and information. Additionally, Iwan collaborates with Verra’s REDD+ team to solve technical issues and represents Verra at regional events.

With robust experience in the forestry and climate related works, Iwan has in-depth knowledge of cross-sectoral issues in conservation, sustainable development, climate change, forest and land use, and drivers of deforestation and its underlying causes. In his previous work in various roles in Indonesia’s forestry sector, Iwan gained expertise in forest governance with multi-level engagements and approaches from the local field level to the international level, including in the planning, implementation, and evaluation phases. His previous work also required collaboration with indigenous peoples, local communities, members of the public, and private sector representatives.

Iwan brings his extensive experience to build partnership with government and relevant stakeholders in rolling out of Verra’s new methodologies in Asia. He also will facilitate the process of activity data collection and risk map in the region.
