Sohmer Peterson
Program Officer, Events
As Program Officer, Events, at Verra, Sohmer supports the implementation of all event-related activities. Sohmer diligently handles various responsibilities, including managing inquires, event coordination, communication, and outreach.
Before joining Verra, Sohmer was a Wildlife Policy Research Fellow for the International Fund of Animal Welfare (IFAW), conducting policy research on the illegal wildlife trade and exotic pet ownership laws. During this time, she was also an Events Team Lead at an Austin-based event space, where she assisted in hosting a multitude of events.
Sohmer holds a Master’s degree in Conservation Leadership from Colorado State University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology from Texas A&M University.
