Fulfilling the role of IT Security Manager, Carlos’ responsibilities include developing of Verra’s IT security standard operating procedures, formalizing internal controls, maintaining all security tools, and managing updates.

With over 20 years of experience in IT and Cybersecurity within the education, healthcare, and financial verticals, Carlos has established a distinguished career that commenced in the K12 system in Williamsburg, Virginia, and progressed through significant roles at Vanderbilt University’s Medical Center and a major health insurance carrier. Committed to developing robust security programs, Carlos excels in aligning these initiatives with organizational goals and objectives. A proven leader in the field, Carlos is recognized for a collaborative approach, leveraging a wealth of knowledge and expertise to enhance cybersecurity measures and protect critical information assets. His skills are backed by industry-recognized certifications, including CISA and CISM.

At a personal level, as an avid soccer player himself, Carlos coached his son’s soccer team from 3 to 9 years old, allowing him to pay it forward within his community as well as enjoy the most critical and fulfilling stages of being a father.

With a keen sense of community, Carlos actively participates in his local homeowner’s association and community planning, animal organizations, and professional development groups.
