The methodology quantifies the GHG emission reductions resulting from improved grassland management projects. The methodology identifies and accounts carbon stock changes and GHG emissions in the soil carbon, aboveground woody biomass and belowground biomass pools, fossil fuel combustion, enteric emissions, biomass burning, and nitrogen fertilizer application.
The methodology is broadly applicable to grass-dominated systems where baseline grassland management activities result primarily in livestock production.
