As we well know, cars are an enormous source of greenhouse gas emissions. In the US alone cars account for almost one fifth of total greenhouse gas emissions each and every year. To address this large emission source, Greenmiles Technologies is in the process of developing a new VCS methodology that will track emission reductions from carpooling activities by using a smart phone application that tracks gasoline usage.

As with any proposed methodology, the first step in the VCS methodology approval process is to solicit public comments. To that end, I would encourage you to take a close look at the proposed methodology, and offer your thoughts on it, both pro and con. This comment period began on 24 October 2013 and will end on 23 November 2013

A webinar describing this proposed methodology will be held on 6 November 2013 at 11:15am (EST). Register for the webinar by clicking here.

Comments on the methodology are invited and may be submitted by contacting the VCS at secretariat@v-c-s.org. Comments must include a name, organization, country and email address.
