Liaison Officer for Multilateral Institutions
As Liaison Officer for Multilateral Institutions, Vanessa develops and implements strategies for engaging with international organizations (including United Nations bodies and multilateral development banks) to ensure they understand the role of Verra and its climate and sustainable development programs and to explore potential synergies.
Previously, Vanessa held the position Senior Program Officer, Sustainable Development Policy and Markets, at Verra and supported market development efforts for the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) and Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta) Programs. Before that, she was a Senior Program Officer, Sustainable Development, and worked on the implementation of Verra’s sustainable development programs, such as LandScale, CCBS, and SD VISta.
Prior to joining Verra, Vanessa worked at the National Audubon Society, where she provided financial, administrative, and logistical support to the organization’s International Program and its conservation initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Vanessa holds an MSc in ecological economics from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in international relations from Universidad Central de Venezuela.
