Diego is Senior Program Officer, VCS Methodologies, Natural Climate Solutions at Verra. In this role, Diego works on developing methodologies for Natural Climate Solutions (NCS), such as IFM, ARR, and REDD+. He also helps to coordinate the approval processes and manage the portfolio of existing methodologies.

Diego is passionate about climate change mitigation. During his career, he has focused on understanding, promoting, and implementing NCS to tackle climate change in Colombia and other countries. Prior to joining Verra, Diego worked for The Nature Conservancy (TNC), where he led the TNC NCS Strategy by building and strengthening four pillars of systemic change: science, policy, market/private sector, and communication.

Diego holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Exeter (UK), an M.Sc. in Amazonian Studies from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and a B.Sc. in Biology from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia).

Diego is a long-distance runner and enjoys hiking in his free time.
