The public consultation ended on 16 July 2018.
Verra has launched a public consultation on the next version of the VCS Program: VCS Version 4. This consultation is aimed at receiving your feedback on the major proposed updates to the VCS Program which will form the basis for VCS Version 4, and which will ensure that it continues to create high-quality market-based instruments that drive finance to activities that reduce and/or remove GHG emissions.
The consultation is guided by a VCS Version 4 Consultation Roadmap. The Consultation Roadmap sets out a catalogue of proposals which will make up the core of VCS Version 4. For each proposal, we have prepared an individual consultation document which sets out the background and details of each proposal, upon which we welcome your feedback.
- Revision to Scope of the VCS Program
- Domestic Climate Contribution (DCC)
- Update to Project Crediting Period Requirements
- Update to VVB Accreditation Recognition
- Project Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Contributions
- Streamlining the Methodology Approval Process
- Update to AFOLU Requirements
- Reorganizing and Restructuring VCS Program Documents
The consultation will run for 60 days, ending on 16 July 2018. After the consultation, we’ll use your input to finalize the content of VCS Version 4, or potentially run a second consultation.
We encourage stakeholders to review as many proposals as possible, though the Consultation Roadmap is designed to facilitate review of proposals which are most relevant to individual stakeholders’ work.
Please provide comments in any form, including email or by preparing formal documents, and send those to firstname.lastname@example.org by 16 July 2018, including your name, organization, and contact information.
