Scaling Up Plastic Waste Collection and Recycling

Validation & Verification

Under the Plastic Program, auditors known as validation/verification bodies (VVBs) are tasked with assessing projects against the Plastic Program rules and the requirements of the applied methodology(ies). VVBs are qualified, independent third parties that are approved by Verra to perform validation and verification. This independent assessment process is critical to ensuring the integrity of the projects registered under the Plastic Program.

VVBs are eligible to provide validation and verification services under the Plastic Program if they have signed the required agreement with Verra and are accredited by a member of the International Accreditation Forum. Further information about VVB eligibility criteria can be found on the “Become a VVB” page.
