Estimated benefits over the project lifetime It is planned to disseminate a total of approximately 500,000 Canarumwe stoves to households, which previously have had no access to improved cookstoves. The improved cook stoves will replace 3-stone fire, which is the predominant stove in the project area. By using the improved cook stoves, fuel consumption will be reduced, thereby reducing the time required for wood collection or reducing costs for firewood for households purchasing wood. The improved efficiency of the stove will also lead to reduced indoor air pollution, thereby improving the health situation especially of women and children.

Estimated benefits over the project lifetime Through this project, the distribution and installation of approximately 500,000 ICS will be undertaken for households in Rwanda. It is intended that under this project single pot, TLC-CQC Rocket Stove will be distributed. The ICS will burn wood more efficiently thereby improving thermal transfer to pots, hence saving fuel. Not only will this halt the rapidly progressing deforestation in Rwanda but will also reduce health hazards from indoor smoke pollution and women and children will have to spend less time collecting firewood.

Estimated benefits over the project lifetime The ICS disseminated through this project will replace the baseline cookstoves. Through this project, the distribution and installation of approximately 500,000 ICS will be undertaken for households in Uganda. It is intended that under this project single pot, TLC-CQC Rocket Stove will be distributed. Each household will receive up to 2 ICS per household. The ICS will burn wood more efficiently thereby improving thermal transfer to pots, hence saving fuel. Not only will this halt the rapidly progressing deforestation in Uganda but will also reduce health hazards from indoor smoke pollution and women and children will have to spend less time collecting firewood. The end user will be informed in advance that the use of ICS generates carbon finance which in turn is used for subsidising the price of ICS and for recovering project implementation costs.

Estimated benefits over the project lifetime: Green Gold Forestry will take 183,455 ha of its production forest concession area out of the planned logging cycle and into management for ecosystem services. Within the project boundary, baseline logging will cease, together with the establishment and maintenance of logging roads, skidding trails and other infrastructure. Thereby, emissions will be eliminated from the extraction and processing of logs, from collateral mortality of felling operations, and from roads, skidding trails and other infrastructure. The forest will be protected from disturbance, reducing emissions from logging operations and allowing carbon content to accumulate over time, taking advantage of the overall trend of carbon accumulation in Amazonian forests. Any negative effects that biodiversity may have experienced from logging operations will be allowed to recover.
